Romantic hotel for our honeymoon?

We will be in Venice for part of our honeymoon in the early part of April 2001 and we were wondering if anyone could offer any advice on the following hotels:

Europa & Regina
Daneli
Hotel Metropole
Flora
Londra Palace
Rialto Hotel

My first choice is the Daneli, but I am wondering if it is it is worth it... my thoughts are that we might be better off going with a nicer room in a less expensive hotel). Thoughts? Or can anyone recommend room numbers in the above hotels? Thanks!!!

I can give you some other info. We stayed at Locanda Fiorita ( Near St Stefano's) this is in Fodors. I DO NOT RECCOMEND this hotel. The location was good but the rooms were small and the staff was not very helpful.
Check out a new trvl website. www.igougo.com
people write reviews my name is Kathy and I have quite a few in there.
This may help steer you in the correct direction. I have heard the Danieli is wonderful it looked nice.
If you are going to Florence I can rec. the Bellitinni it is wonderful and about 88.00 usd inc bkfst/

Ann, post again with a descriptive title and you might get more help - perhaps "Venice hotels???"

ann
The hotels you mention are not all the same level of service or amenities. The Danieli is the star of stars, but
I have friends who would stay nowhere else but the Europa Regina, and I can vouch for its excellent location and
reputation for comfort and service.
I have stayed at the Flora, which is a smaller and simpler hotel, and I loved it. Rooms small, bathrooms small, but there is an elevator, pleasant staff, nice decor, and another outstanding location 5 minutes from San Marco.
Re the Metropole, I once copied this comment from this forum
"Hotel Metropole on Riva Degli Schiavone. On the Grand canal and not far from Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's), Bridge of Sighs and some very expensive properties like the Hotel Danieli. Magical.
We opened the windows at night and heard an opera next door. It's also the only
place that serves a buffet-style meal in Venice" (1999)
