Romantic Dining in Prague
 

I am looking for a restaurant to celebrate a special event. I am looking for a restaurant with good food and wine. I would prefer that it would have outside dining so we can see the city from our table. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Amazing view over the city of Prague below and the castle.

La Perla at the top of the Dancing Building. View is great (I heard) but don't think there is outside seating.

Hanavsky Pavilon at the top of Letna hill, amazing view. Slightly off the center compared to above 3 I mentioned.

I second the Bellavista.

We had great risotto and the salmon was terrific. Spectacular views from outside patio. Best dark beer of the trip, as well.

I second the suggestion for Kampa Park; we dined right beside the water and there was a full moon and the view was spectacular. Food and service were excellent. A memorable meal and evening.

David's -- great food, wine, outside dining, tucked out of the way -- it's lovely

I LOVE LOVE LOVE David and am one of the Fodorite cheerleaders of David in Prague. However, I would not want to sit outside of David with a view of the alley.

Go to David for food, not the view.

For fabulous views of Prague, I recommend Le Perle in the Fred/Ginger Building. You will see the Vlatava and St. Vitus from its windows.

If money is no object, Hanavsky Pavilon is *the* place. Absolutely the best view and fantastic surroundings.

It doesn’t have outdoor tables but have a veranda room covered all with glass windows.

Imagine without snow because the restaurant is closed in mid winter.

I found a photo taken at David. It was a winter night and I was all alone of the whole restaurant. They have small and cozy dining rooms. No view, as stated above. It didn't look like they have space for outside seating in warm season but I'm not sure. A funny thing (as least to me) is they sereved croissants along with slices of bread to accompany the dishes.

How late in the year is outside seating available at most restaurants? Only summer months?

October possibly? But it depends on the weather I suppose. In Novermber I don't remember seeing terrace open. Exception : Cafes/restaunrants at the Old Town Square are open all year round with heating. They are very expensive, e.g. €5 or more for 1/2 litre of beer.

BTW, I should have added that if you google Cafe Marnice, you will find it has often been the subject of photos, sketches and paintings. It is IMO a romantic setting with a view.

Also on Kampa Island is a restaurant called Kampa 14 (or is is 15)? It doesn't have a view but the ambiance is warm and inviting, the food is excellent and beautifully plated - you can see an example (photo of strudel serving)on the photo link above. Good prices too.
