Roma Pass Questions

I know this has been asked in the past few weeks, but wanted to see if anyone had any updates. We leave for Italy in 3 days (who's counting!?!?!) and I am still wondering if the Roma Pass is a good deal or not. Does anyone know if it truly does include the Colosseo and the Galleria Borghese?? It just seems to good to be true. Any info would be appreciated :-)

I have their pamphlet in front of me, I picked it up 3 weeks ago.

"The pass costs 18e (s)only and entitles holders to: free admission to the FIRST TWO museums and/or archaeological sites visited without queuing, full access to the public tranport system, reduced tickets and discounts for any other following museums and sites, as well as exhibitions, music events, theatrical and dance preformances and all other tourist services".

Pass is valid for 3 days from their validation date.

The Colosseo/Palatino and the Galleria Borghese are listed under "All museums and sites that have joined the initiative".

Off the top of my head; a 3 day metro/bus pass is 11e, the Colosseum/Palatine Hill is 11e and add on what the Galleria Borghese ticket costs.

But do they actually let you just walk into the Borghese without a reservation like the pamphlet says in general terms about bypassing the queue?
Regards, Walter

AmiLynn

This pass sounds good, with the bus and metro included, but it is quite new, so no-one really seems to know about the Borghese Gallery, whcih we are told has to be reserved in advance.

If you haven't already resereved your Borghese pass, please be a 'guinea pig' and test this pass out! Don't forget to post back on your return and let us all know how your trip goes and how this pass really works!

HAVE A GREAT TRIP!

Thanks, Walter!!

Julia - I definitely think we are going to be 'guinea pigs' and try this Roma Pass out!

We have reservations already for the Borghese, so I am hoping that when we get there we can just walk in and find out we don't owe the "fee" since we will have the Pass. One more thing, we have a tour scheduled with ICON Tours for the Colosseo, I wrote them stating that we planned on purchasing the Roma Pass and that we would like to use that as our "ticket" to enter the Colosseo. The responded and said, "No problem, just let your tour guide know this when you show up for the tour"
I promise to post full info on the Roma Pass as soon as we return (weekend of June 10-11) :-)

When is your ICON tour of the Colosseo? (Maybe we'll be on the same one!)

uptowngirl2418 May 24th, 2006 11:35 AM

where do you buy the pass?

AmiLynn May 24th, 2006 11:38 AM

This gives you all the info, but it isn't 100% clear-cut:

At the bottom of the page click on "Roma Pass download" and it lists the locations to purchase

Ours is on Monday. We'll be at the Galleria Borghese on Friday.
