Roma Pass Question

We were planning on using the Roma Pass in Rome. We want to use it for the Borghese gallery as our first stop. I am having trouble (and I really have looked and looked) trying to figure out how to reserve our time at the Borghese without buying a ticket. Do I have to buy the Roma Pass online first and then go through them to reserve the time. It is probably something simple I am missing, but I just can't seem to find it. I am getting close to posting my final itinerary, I have my two tours booked and this is the last thing I have to do. Please help. Thanks in advance.

In the past, you had to call the Borghese and reserve, telling them you are using a Roma Pass. AFAIK, the Borghese hasn't updated their website to allow reservations using the pass. If you don't want to call, ask you hotel to book it for you (check that they don't charge a service fee as some do).

kybourbon, thank you! I was hoping you would respond. I have depended on you for a lot of this trip - I have read lots of posts and you always have good information. I will post my itinerary soon and I hope you will have time to glance at it and make recommendations.

You'd probably be better to arrange that visit before arriving in Rome - just phone and tell them you'll have the RomaPass.

No booking fee payable as long as it turns out to be one of your first two uses - see section 6, re Reservations, here:

http://www.romapass.it/p.aspx?l=en&tid=33

... where they've the phone number, and the local times for calling!

No need to buy the Pass in advance - and, if you've not done so, or have used up the 2 freebies, you'll simply be charged the appropriate amount when picking up your tickets.

I'd a recollection that they ask people to arrive 30 minutes before their "slot" - but can't find any mention of that either on the Roma Pass site, or here:

http://www.galleriaborghese.benicult....php?it/1/home

... although these people...

http://www.060608.it/en/cultura-e-sv...-borghese.html

.... on whom one can usually rely, still say: "Reserved tickets must be collected 30 minutes before your time slot"

Sorry about the duplication - either Firefox or this site was clearly mistaken about the post not having gone through!

A_Brit_In_Ischia, (or anyone else), the link to the Borghese Gallery does indicate picking up tickets 30 minutes ahead. If it is more convenient (and it is) is it possible to pick the tickets (already reserved) a day or two ahead? Also, related to that, I don't see the hours listed when these can be picked up. Anyone know?

I don't know if you can pick them up in advance, but the 30 minutes is to allow time to get your tickets (there is a line) and allow time to check your belongings (another line). You aren't allowed to take anything in, but a wallet (no bags, no purse, no camera, etc.). They give you a small plastic bag for it and everything else must be checked.
