Rolling Venicecard a ripoff

D was there recently, bought one; nobody accepted it. Save your euro.

Are you referring to something called "Rolling Venicecard"? If so, it probably was a rip-off.

The real Venicecard can offer big savings for people who are in Venice at least a week.

That's the card. D and friends were there for 5 days; no one would give a discount with it.

Hey art,

Did they get the 72 hr vaporetto pass for only 15E?

It's surprising that something offered by the City of Venice would be a rip-off.

But for 3 Euro, you can't expect much. If they got the discount off the three-day vaporetto pass, that more than pays for the Rolling Venicecard.

The website gives a detailed description of all the places that offer discounts with the Rolling Venice Card. That should help determine whether it's worth the cost. When you buy the card, you get a booklet showing the same places that discounts apply. Are you saying that places mentioned in the booklet wouldn't give you a discount?

As mentioned above, I knew I would save €7 on the 72 hour vaparetto pass so even if that was the only thing I used it for, it made it value for money.

I noticed on my departure that my B&B offered a 10% discount with the card. You are supposed to mention this on booking but they gave me the discount anyway.
