Rollerblading in Genoa?

I have heard that there is a great promenade in Genoa that we can rollerblade on. Does anyone know where it is? Is there a place to rent inline skates? Thanks, Phil

Hi Phil. I believe the promenade follows the road (Corso Italia), ending at Boccadasse. This is along the sea in the eastern part of Genoa. I've walked some of this but can't remember the exact starting point. There is also a nice promenade that starts in Nervi, but I remember steps, so it probably isn't good for skating. Can't help with the rentals, but I know there is someone who has posted who lives in Boccadasse or Nervi, and perhaps she'll see this and post. Good luck.

Thank you JQ, I've noted your response and will put it with my Genoa stuff. Phil

I wouldn't recommend the Nervi promenade for rollerblading. But the promenade along Corso Italia should be nice...wider and not as crowded. Sorry but I don't have any info as to where to rent skates. You should definitely go to the Nervi promenade for a stroll and lunch one day...it's lovely. Almost every Sunday I eat lunch on the Nervi promenade at La Marinella...the best focaccia formaggio!

Amy Z - Thanks, my wife and I will probably be in Rapallo for its central location, for six nights, June 28 - July 4, for our first trip to Italy, and will look forward to lunch at La Marinella and a stroll on the Nervi promenade. We will check out the other for rollerblading. Grazie, Phil, Washington state, USA

I stayed in Nervi in May 2004 - the passegiata is a wonderful walkway that hugs the rocky coastline. Sprnkled along the path are restaurants and bars - I remember a beautiful rose garden. We had just missed all the jasmine in bloom. Genoa is a up and coming city.

C P, I am looking forward to the passeggiata (new word for me), it makes me wonder of the different types of paths and walkways we will experience on this adventure. Thanks
