Roissy Bus?

Is anyone familiar with how reliable this is? I have a friend joining me in Paris in June who will arrive at CDG Terminal 2 and this seems to be the best way to get her to Ecole Militaire metro stop with only the change at Opera to line 8. [She wants the cheapest -- I want the easiest to explain after a taxi.] The RER is a non-starter as it would require 2 changes and she's never been to Paris.

I can't speak to the Roissybus as a user, but I know the schedule is supposed to be departures every 15 minutes or so, and I think your reason for choosing it and the routing is absolutely sound.
I hope her luggage is light!

Sally:

For what it's worth, I used to take the Roissy Bus all the time, and it ran like clockwork. This was, oh, at least 10 years ago, though, so I have no recent experience. It's certainly cheaper than a taxi and less hassle than the RER/métro.

Roissybus is OK - not as frequent as the Air France buses and they don't take care of your luggage. Also no a/c.

Another option would be to take the Air France bus to Etoile (Arc de Triomphe - 2nd and last stop) and from there the 92 bus to Ecole Militaire. Service is very frequent, although it might be a bit slower - but definitely more scenic and less lugging - than the metro.

The 92 bus stop is literally on the same block as the Air France Bus arrives, just turn to face the Arc de Triomphe and head left to the Avenue Wagram. The bus will be going to Gare Montparnasse.

You can buy tickets for each bus from the driver.

For a better overview of the Etoile intersection, go to:
http://www.ratp.fr/ParisVisite/Eng/Pla_q/f_pla.htm
click on "street maps", then select "Charles-de-Gaulle-Etoile"

The Air France buses stop at Avenue Carnot, right where "ambassade de Belgique" is marked on the map. The Air France marking on the map is the ticket office, NOT the bus stop!

Bon voyage,
Andre
