Is this a nice spot for lunch ?

From our visit 2 years ago, yes -- however, be aware that it is informal, casual. Appeared then that a number of office workers nearby bring their box lunches over to the garden to enjoy their lunch break. The cafe itself is line/tray/self-serve not waiter sit-down. Can not say re the food since we simply enjoyed a glass of wine there and had lunch elsewhere (not an unusual action plan for us).

Marko--As long as you know that the Cafe at the Rodin is really a small cafeteria, you should not be disappointed. We ate lunch there during an April rain 2 years ago, and it was pleasant to rest our feet and enjoy a glass of wine and a salad. The cafe looks out on the back gardens, which are beautiful, even when the flowers are not in bloom. <BR><BR>I was at the Rodin last month, but we did not go to the cafe, as it is not wheelchair accessible(it's down several steps). The gardens were glorious, so enjoy if you are going soon. Be sure and visit Les Invalides(Napoleon's Tomb) just a block away.

Am I missing here something? There are no steps to Rodin museum cafe. I should know, my mother walks with a cane. We had a lunch there on June 9th (Sunday). It was busy with many French visitors. Food was fine but I agree with MHS it is very informal.

There was definitely a set of steps when we came around from "The Thinker", but there also may have been another way to the cafe. We did not inquire, so may have missed something.

As others have said, its nothing flash - I can't even remember what I ate there but I do remember how wonderfully relaxing it was sitting there having lunch in those glorious gardens!

Its a great spot to go for breakfast!<BR>It is not crowded if you go when the museum opens and has good pastries and decent coffee. There are better places for lunch in the area. The museum is great--try to go on a dry day.

I think it's a great alternative - I usually just have a simple sandwich, but the surroundings are wonderful! Like other posters, I order in the cafe & then take my sandwich and drink to sit on a bench in the garden.<BR><BR>(I also like to grab a sandwich at the small cafe in the Tuileries - that one's a bit more of a traditional cafe).

Yes, I mean, if all you're looking for is a sandwich or a salad in a nice leafy location, it's perfect. Nothing special about it, but it's inexpensive and the setting is lovely.

We walked from our hotel on rue Jacob to the Invalides,walked all around there - then on over to the Rodin Musee.What a pleasure it was to sit in that lovely garden and just relax and enjoy the quiet and beauty of the gardens:)

Can you get a glass of wine there ??

Of course! This is la belle France :) It is very pleasant sitting under the arches trees -- there was even a lovely cat lording over us all the day I was there in June.
