Rock 'n' Roll London

I'm headed to London next month, and just picked up a copy of "Time Out." It mentions a walk called "Rock 'n' Roll London", but there is no such tour on the London Walks site. Does anyone know anything about this tour?

Searched Google.......found this website that offers a Rock N Rock tour around London. Not sure if it's the one you're looking for, but it might be fun:

Further searching on Google (I typed in "Rock N Roll tour London") revealed more tours. It seems all of them depart from the Hard Rock Cafe at 2 pm, LOL, so I'd say you have a few to choose from. All the sites do say, however, to book in advance.

I'm sure you will find even more, if you do a search on Google.

Rock on, dude!

Merseyheart: Original London Walks is not the only good walking company. It is the largest and the one most fodorites recommend (and is owned by an American - which may partially account for some of its popularity here) - but Time Out lists walks from several commercial firms and non-profits. Brimhamrocks has given you good links to some of them.

Merseyheart- I'm sensitive to posters on this board who say, "This has been discussed before, do a search." I don't know if you did do that, but I recall a thread not that long ago asking about Rock 'N Roll London. The reason I bring it up is there was a lot of very good detail posted about the different walks. I found it very helpful in planning our trip. If I find it, I will post a link.

Thanks for the links. It seems these tours are van tours, not a walking tour, as "Time Out" lists one. But that's a possibility, too! Too much London, not enough time!

When we were in London about 5 years ago, we took a Beatles walking tour which included the building on which "Get Back" was performed and Abbey Road. I don't remember the name of the company but I think the guide's name was Richard. Both our teenage kids and us 40-ish ex-hippies enjoyed it quite a bit. :)

QueenMab, I think I found the link for the walking tour you mentioned....the guide's name is Richard, too.

The Big Bus Company, in addition to offering bus tours, also features several walking tours of London, one of which is a Rock N Roll tour:

This website offers a Swinging Sixties Pub Walk tour of London:

A Rock n Roll tour, however not a walking one, but sounds interesting nonetheless:

Enjoy!

Allow me to put in a pitch for our website host...

There's also a book I discovered a number of years ago which you might enjoy called "Fodor's Rock & Roll Traveler Great Britain and Ireland: The Ultimate Guide to Famous Rock Hangouts Past and Present"

Brimham Rocks: That's the guy! I recognized him immediately. We took the Magical Mystery Tour. You can try to take pictures of your party walking across Abbey Road like on the album cover, but it's hard with all the traffic! :)
