Robjame's Paris Photos
I, too, have been procrastinating in posting our Paris photos from May 2005. For anyone interested...

robjame: Thanks for posting your photos. I am going to be at the Hotel Monge for the first time next week, so now I know what it looks like! Do you recommend any nearby restaurants or markets? It looks like you visited a lot of beautiful gardens. Are any of those nearby?
|
Thanks for sharing your photos as it brought back many fine memories. Mike

robjame: Your pictures were beautiful. Thank you for posting. I noticed the picture with you purchasing a print from an artist. Do you remember what part of Paris that was?
|
Hi Y&R,
I hope you like Hotel Monge as much as we did. Say "bonjour" to Julie(last photo). We will be there again in a month. The markets in the pictures are at Monge and Mouffetard. Both Luxembourg garden and Gardin des Plantes are within walking distance and wonderful places for people watching. Email me and I will send you my restaurant reports for some of our favorites in the neighborhood. [email protected] |

Montmartre - I understand that purchasing a picture there is a very tourisy thing to do but we love the picture and it evokes many fond memories. |
What a nice break from washing my kitchen floor! How good to see all the familiar places all leafed out and so green. I've not been to Paris yet during a green season. It looks even better than I imagined!

Thank You for a wonderful trip to Paris on a Saturday afternoon. Pix are beautiful with great composition. I especially loved the ones from Monmontre.
|
Thanks robjame,
Yes, I thought it may have been from Montmarte. I'm trying to figure out to fit that into one of my two days in Paris. The pictures I see from Montmarte are wonderful. |
Thanks Robert..excellent photo memories of a most memorable place. I'm anxious to try out my digital after having used my regular Nikkon on many past visits to Paris. Your results are excellent...good eye for meaningful photos.
Thanks again..Happy travels...we'll be in Paris May 5-9 following a barge trip in Alsace and a few weeks in Provence. Stu T. |
Email sent. I'm looking forward to trying out your recommendations and reporting back about them. And I will be sure to say bonjour to Julie. :)

robjame:
Thank you for sharing these lovely photos. Our 1st trip is coming early May and I'm overly excited about it all. It's been my dream to travel to Paris since I was a little girl. Di |
Robjame, thanks for these. I find it amazing to look at someone else's photo and say "I was there! I stood in that same spot exactly!" Wonderful memories. (I like the little flag in your lapel, too.)

Y&R - Here is the link to the food photos...
http://tinyurl.com/ekvgj Di - Your first visit is magic Anselm - I had figured that out about you as well LOL |
I think we must have similar sensibilities. We'll be staying at Hotel Monge when we go this July, so I was pleased to see your photos.
So how come you have so many more posts in such a short time?! Paule :) |
Hi Rob,
Thanks for sharing. What's the optical zoom on your camera? :) ((I)) |
Hi Ira
It is a Sony Cyber Shot 5.1 with a 3X Optical zoom. I don't pretend to understand it but it is supposed to have a smart zoom that minimizes distortion when it moves past 3X and into digital zoom. |
Nice pictures! I'm leaving on Monday, my first trip to Paris. I'm staying at the Hotel Residence Monge so the last few pics were appreciated. The photos help with the instensifying anticipation, thanks :)

Beautiful pictures. Now if I could have some of the pastries...
|
Thanks, Robjame: I just returned and so many of your shots were fresh in my mind...lovely
