So sorry to hear about this most unfortunate incident, ally. Thank you for sharing a story that reminds us all to keep a constant eye on our valuables.
I must ask (even though it's a rhetorical question)...
what possible good could come from making the OP feel that they were somehow at fault for what happened? On top of losing some of their valuables, and humbly (but wrongfully) blaming themselves, it makes one wonder where some of you get off on making comments that will only make the OP feel worse.
I've seen this happen on other threads- where people admit that they could've been more careful about something, only to see people reply with a statement that's tantamount to "well, you should've known better".
If your response doesn't serve to show sympathy and offer comfort to the victims of the unfortunate incident, do them a favour and save the keystrokes.

Ally:
Keep your chin up and try to enjoy the rest of your trip.
Unfortunately, the crooks are smarter than us. Isn't it a sorry state of affairs that we have to constantly be vigilant and on our toes to keep ourselves and our possessions safe?
I understand that Prague is a beautiful city, and somewhere that I would like to visit soon. Your unfortunate incident will make me more careful.
