Road from Assos to Myrtos, Kefalonia
 

Hi,

I'm planning a trip this summer for Kefalonia and will be staying for a few days in the lovely little seaside village of Assos. As the crow flies it isn't far from Kefalonia's most famous beach, Myrtos. However, when I map out the route from Assos to Myrtos with the usually-very-reliable Good Maps, it sends me a roundabout way rather than what appears to clearly be the most direct route.

Basically for you Kefalonia lovers and those familiar with the island, do you know if the road from Assos to Myrtos is closed. I know in 2014 a few roads in Kefalonia were closed because of earthquakes.

It really does make a difference,so if anyone has experience having stayed in Assos and what the road situation is/easiest route to Myrtos, please let me know!
