Road atrip from Barcelona
 

We will be in Barcelona for 6 nights and then would like to road trip 4 days further into Catalonia. Our priorities are to visit both the Dali Museum and Dali home with possible overnight in Cadaques, visit Girona, Besalu and more of the Garoxxta. We will be renting a car that we will return before catching a train to Malaga.
I am asking for your help with timing, logistics and deciding where to base the overnights.
We have spent some time in Barcelona previously but want to revisit the city. Would be willing to drop one of the 6 nights there if it makes sense to see more of the area.

Two nights in Girona at least — it’s a good base for Besalu and the Garrotxa, with a great choice of restaurants and lodging, very cool to wander in the evenings.

Did you leave out Figueres and the Dali theatre museum on purpose? Or would you drop in on your way to Cadaques? We enjoyed the little house in Pubol, but it’s an admittedly minor sight.

One, two or three nights in Cadaques depending on whether you’d like to do any of the fine coastal hiking around there.

Not sure you need a car, why not do it by train, such an easy way to get around. BTW the towns in the area are great to visit and some of the backwoods areas are lovely but I've never yet used a car in any of them
