rkkwan - I've just finished reading your report and chasing down the links. Your report is clearly a labour of love and I did appreciate all the detail.
Your story about Le Mans and hunting for dinner reminds me of a similar debacle we went through ourselves once - now we never travel without enough food with us to make up an emergency meal. I admire your fortitude for driving on an empty stomach after such a long day. I'd be chewing the steering wheel!
Interesting comparison between St. Michael's Mont and Mont St. Michel. Supposedly a new bridge is going to be built to the latter that might improve the ambiance.
Question: If I were to return to a Europcar depot at CDG, coming from the direction of Senlis, it sounds like I should pick Term 2 over Term 1? I thought we'd get less lost at Term 1, but after reading your report and especially the car rental link, I'm reconsidering...

Sue - Thanks for reading. Sometimes I find it funny that I would use weeks to plan a trip, and then many days after to write reports & fix up photo, plus many weeks to edit my videos and put them on DVDs. While the trip only lasted 6 days!
Yes, I forgot to mention that inside the abbey church at Mont-St-Michel were displays and models about the new bridge and a dam on the Cousnon River, which would really help. The current causeway is really a disaster.
As for returning the car at CDG, I have no experience with car rental/return at CDG2, so I can't give you information. CDG1 should be pretty easy, as it's just one building (car park is in the same main round building, just on a higher level).

Really enjoyed reading your trip report on Belgium/Loire/Paris etc., and would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for the help you gave me on the Asia Board re:Honeymoon in Hong Kong plus a reply to j_4tay about travel agents helped ME save a pile of cash with flights between HK - SING.
