will be in villefranche one day we would probably like to see eze,cannes and nice. what would the best way to see some or all of these and it is practical? thanks

You could take the train to all of the towns you mentioned. But given the train schedules, I do not know if you would have more than a very short time in each of these towns. Are you saying you are going to try to do them and Villefranche in one day? If you are determined, start out very early and plan a long day. My suggestion would be to skip Cannes altogether.

I would recommend looking into renting a car or commissioning a driver to take you places, as you don't have much time and wouldn't want to spend your time waiting on someone else's train schedule. I would say it is most practical do go to Nice, Eze village and Villefranche, possibly with an additional trip to St. Paul de Vence, depending on how gung ho/speedy you are.

hi <BR>some people don't like cannes because they claim it's a tourist trap with no museums, just a casino and a convention center - I DISAGREE, as it is one of my favorite places on the riviera, there's something very special about the old town and the hill above it, the little streets off of the old town are breathtaking and typically rivieran - it's a great place to just stroll and relax, i don't gamble, so i avoid the casion, but my parents spent 3 days there after their tour of italy and were very happy with the relaxation - true, for the chagall/matisse museum, you should take a day trip to nice, but to truly enjoy that rivieran je ne sais quoi, cannes is the place (I lived in france for a year, travelled all around, and it's my opinion) <BR>ps: on the riviera, watch your wallets and purses and be a smart tourist ... oh, and how can i forget the little hotel i've been pushing on this site, cause they are a great find and got my parents out of a jam chivelrously: <BR>In May my parents stayed at this little hotel right in old town Cannes, close to the beach - the only thing was that there was no elevator, but they carried their bags to their third floor room for them and you can see the water from the window, the prices for a double were about $60USD - here's their web site: <BR> <BR>http://www.azurene-royal-hotel.com/
