You have posted several threads about this already, including one that has tons of responses.

Why do you keep reposting it? If you have more specific questions, just add them on to your other post. I don't know what else you need to know besides what everyone has already told you.

I'm not trying to be mean, just that you already asked this question, and you have better chance of getting specific answers if you ask a specific question, and keep using the same thread.

Have fun in Barcelona. I'll be there in 2 weeks, but I don't have your budget!

If you have a spare moment, and nothing better to do at all, could you pop into the Ritz and give me your personal impressions please? Thank you very much, but only bother if it is most convenient, if it is any bother to you, forget it. Thanks once again.

m - what is the address? If I pass by, I'll stop in for you. I'll keep my eye out. I'm sure I wouldn't see a room, but I could tell you what the lobby and the neighborhood look like. :)

Is this hotel thing getting a bit tiring or just my own politically incorrret feeling?

AlexA Feb 2nd, 2004 01:53 PM

m_kingdom,
I, like several others here, gave impressions of the hotel to you in one of the many many threads you posted recently.
Though we all sometimes have trouble choosing a hotel, I just don't see what you're asking for now. You've already asked about location, proximity to high end boutiques, rooms, pool, spa services, etc. etc.

m_kingdom Feb 2nd, 2004 02:26 PM

More specifically then, what are the clientele, and/or the bar like? A contrast with the Claris, and Grand Marina would be excellent, thank you.

AlexA Feb 2nd, 2004 02:44 PM

"The bar"?????
Sorry m_kingdom, I'm out...
I hope you find what you're looking for

francophile03 Feb 2nd, 2004 02:58 PM

m_kingdom, I think it's ok to ask about a former guest's impressions-up to a point-because no one can really provide you with every detail you wish to know. One really cannot get a perfect hotel. Besides someone else's impressions may not be the same as yours. Like I mentioned before, only you can be the best judge once you stay there but you'll just have to take a chance that the hotel will be to your liking. We have all made bad hotel choices at some time.

m_kingdom Feb 2nd, 2004 03:02 PM

I agree, but I can draw some consensus between people's opinions, and i agree we do all make mistakes, but why not try to be risk averse - after all it is an expensive mistake both in terms of hassle and stress, and also the money!

francophile03 Feb 2nd, 2004 03:37 PM

What you have gotten so far are actually other people's opinions which I think should be enough for you to make a decision. Sorry to say this but you cannot go on being obsessive about trying to get opinions that are not there. Maybe no one has sat in the hotel's bar so there will be no opinion for you to go by so you just to accept your hotel choice or don't.

I liked it except for the fact its a bit of a walk from the Gothic area and the harbour. Rooms are a good size and the staff are very attentive. The antique furniture in the rooms is a nice touch, and the whiskey bar kept me busy for an hour (and hungover for much longer)

m_kingdom Feb 3rd, 2004 07:55 AM

Many thanks for that opinion which has answered my more specifc points!
