riso gelatto

A few years ago my husband and I went to Italy and had rice (riso)gelatto in Florence. It is the only place we have ever had it and no one seems to know where it is. We would like to go back to the gelatto shop and wonder if anyone knows anything about the rice gelatto! We also had wonderful ravioli made with a walnut sauce. Has anyone ever had this ravioli in Italy and if so do you remember the restaurant? Thanks very much in advance.

Many places serve ravioli with walnut sauce, you just need to peruse a few menus in the window to see that.

As for riso gelato, many gelateria serve that as well, in Florence, Rome, and Venice-it seems to have become popular, I've noticed. However, the famed Vivoli's in Florence is known for their riso gelato.

We had rice gelatto for the first time in Locarno last summer. Could not believe how good it was! We never did find it again. When my husband asked for a taste and he immediately ordered a cup of it, I was surprised. It's not often that he makes such a quick decision on something new! It really was fabulous. Sorry not much help with your question, but the gelatto we had was really very special.
