Riquewihr Query

We are about to book a gite on the main street in Riquewihr, Rue du G. de Gaulle, and are a bit worried about noise (this will be at the end of July, the height I
presume of the tourist season).

I'm a bit worried about how noisy it might be at night, both from people and possibly from motorbikes, which I found in Italy could be a real noise nuisance until very late at night!

If you've got any comments on this (or anything else!) we'd appreciate
them. I like the idea of being in a town, getting fresh croissants for breakfast (suggestions?), etc., but since Helen rather likes chilling out, I'm getting cold feet! I also think we're going to have to park overnight in a car park, but shall find out more about this later on today.

Thanks.

Doug

Don't worry about motor bikes in Riquewhir, they can't possibly have them there--at least not any that can be operating. The place is tiny and only pedestrian. Cobblestoned streets, just wouldn't work for major motorbike traffic. Don't know about revelers late into the night but somehow it seems like a place that would "quiet down" after a reasonable hour. If not, join them.

We found Riquewihr rather touristy in comparison with Keysersberg, which seemed more low key, genuine and prettier.

Thanks Julie,

Francesca, the problem is I can't find a gite in Kaysersberg!

Doug

Riquewihr is tiny, and most tourists come in the daytime. Motorbikes are not allowed on the main street. What si a gite?
