RIP Isabel

Sad news for those of us who appreciated isabel's many gracious and generous contributions to Fodor's, not to mention her wonderful photographs:

What a life well lived. Thanks for letting us know.

Thanks for letting us know this sad news. I also enjoyed Isabel's travel posts and especially her beautiful photos. She lived in western MA in an area I know well because of family ties and I liked her pictures of that area as well as her travel photos

My fave shot of hers was that 'crepe-flipping cutie', a tweener girl working at her family's food market stall somewhere in France.
Had noticed Isabel's absence these past year.

I couldn't recall if I ever had any interaction with Isabel but it's always sad to lose a fellow fodorite.

Zebec I do recall that picture so until I saw your reference of it, I was sure I wasn't familiar with Isabel. Glad to know I was wrong.

Was Isabel her fodor’s name?

Yes - isabel (lower case i)

She last posted in late June so it must have been pretty sudden.

What a shame. I never met her in person but we exchanged several PMs over the years about her trips to England, Yosemite and the California coast.

I think she posted a while back that she had a terminal illness. Very sad news.

What a sad loss, and a well-lived life beautifully captured in this obit.

This is so sad. I always looked forward to and enjoyed isabel’s trip reports and photos and will miss her.
Thank you, kja, for sharing the link to that lovely obituary and Nelson, for the link to her photo galleries.

Oh what a shock. I’ve pored over her photos, reports and posts many times over the years.
Such a full life.
A great loss.

This is terrible news. I met Isabel in Lisbon in 2006. She lived in Massachusetts, as do I, and I always assumed we would meet again. Her photography is wonderful, and she was a lovely woman. May her memory be a blessing.

So sorry to read this. Never met her, but followed her many TRs and her gorgeous photos. Thanks for posting, kja.
