Ring of Kerry: worth doing "whole loop"?

With a limited amt of time in Ireland, can we get a good flavor of the Ring of Kerry if we don't do the whole loop? And is there any tour co. that offers a limited drive like that? Thanks.

You can drive the coach tour loop in under 4 hours.. But to get the most from the peninsula you need to get off the main road onto lanes that the coaches can't get down, do some hiking chat to a couple of locals.. Sort of depends what your perceptions are along with your interests and then how this little piece fits the whole jigsaw?

I really like the Skellig Ring which is a loop on very small roads at the far end of the Ring of Kerry. Too small for tour buses

There are a number of 'Big Bus' tours that cover the "main" ring. Most originate and finish in Killarney. Total time investment, departure to return is 6.5 - 7 hours (10:30 AM - 5 PM).
I've never taken any of them ( I'm a 'self-drive' kinda guy!)but I have heard good things about: http://derostours.com/new/all-tours/...ry-coach-tour/

As to IF the ROK is 'Worth' the time -- It all depends upon your interests, where you are coming from (and going to, after)and how much time you actually have for the area.

For example: If you are coming to Killarney from Bantry/Kenmare only have ONE full day for Killarney and are the moving on to Dingle -- Then my answer would be, "No".
If you have 2-3 days to spend in and around Killarney, then my answer might be the opposite . . .
