Ring of Kerry, Ring of Beara or Dingle

Hi
Looking for some help deciding what to do
We are 4 middle age adults and will be staying in Kenmare for 3 nights
That will give us 2 full days ...wondering of the three options which 2 to pick
the options are: Ring of Kerry, Ring of Beara, or Dingle
Thanks for any thoughts!

From Kenmare Beara and the other Cork peninsula's are handy as is Invaragh (Ring of Kerry) if you take the latter option consider getting off the tour bus route and exploring a little. These might be of interest.

I'm going in August to that area.

You might want to get a copy of Frommer's "25 Great Drives in Ireland".

I tend to buy my books at abebooks.com These drives are described in detail in this book.

Here's an example of what I bought. http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Book...2Bin%2Bireland

Note that the new price is $20 + tax at the store.

I have a few more days than you do, so I will go to the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Beara, as I head slowly to Cork.

The Dingle to me was magical. Rick Steves has a very good and detailed tour online.

We took advice from locals and really enjoyed the Beara Peninsula, as well as Dingle. We were able to appreciate the beauty of each without meeting tour buses, as many have described on the Ring of Kerry. Whatever you decide, you can't go wrong. That area of Ireland is gorgeous! Hope you have a good trip with lots of sunny days!

These should keep you busy for an hour or two.

At the end of the Ring of Kerry, take the Skellig Ring - very small roads, no tour buses.

While all three are gorgeous, I enjoyed Dingle and the Ring of Beara the best. That MAY be because I've seen the ROK three times. And yes, the Skellig Ring is a lovely portion of that, on the 'tip'. Valentia Island is gorgeous. But if I were to chose two, it would be Dingle, and Beara.

For us The Dingle Pen/Slea Head was the best part of our adventure in Ireland. The ROK was far too busy and congested with tour buses.Beara is on our list for next time.
