Riiing SIM card: when does it start "counting"

Sorry ... one more question on the Riiing sim card.

I know they are good for (expire in) 9 months. But do they start counting from the day they sell the card to you? or the day you started actually using hte phone with the sim card in it?

I know ... I'm just too eager - plan to go to Italy next Spring but want to get the Riiing sim card now. I thought if it doesn't start counting until I use the phone, I can buy it now so there is one less thing to prepare for the trip.

It's one call every 9 months so you can always make a quick call (or perhaps send a text message if it's cheaper) which starts the 9 months running again at not too much damage.

Johnmango. I already received my Riiing SIM card because I was supposed to go to Italy next week.
The trip has now been cancelled and I have no idea when I will go again.
I have not even put the card in the phone.

Anyway, I wrote to their customer service and as soon as I get an answer, I will post and let you know.

There is really no answer to that question with the instructions nor is there an answer on the web site.

xyz123:

I know each card is for 9 months and to extend it you can make a call like you said. My question WAS: WHAT COUNTS AS THE FIRST DAY., and to repeat in another way: is it the day I bought the card, or is it the day I make my first phone call.

Sherry: if you actually found out please post, or if you don't mind you can send me an email at [email protected]

Thanks very much!

John. As soon as I hear anything I will post or send you mail directly.

United Mobil wrote to me to tell me that the SIM card begins:

The first day you make a call.
The first day you receive a call.
The first day you receive a text message.

Thanks xyz123. Your suggestion was to check the website. And although it took a couple of emails to them, they answered my question.
