Riiing now United-Mobile

For those who have read our posts on riiing, the international gsm carrier with free incoming calls throughout Western Central and Eastern Europe west of Russia as well as Australia and South Africa, please be aware that riiing has been collapsed into its parent united-mobile and now their sim cards re-branded as united mobile will be available directly on the web site www.united-mobile.com at €39 including 15€ worth of credit (not that you'll need much credit if you use either callbackworld or enlinea)..

Thanks xyz.

So if I decide to use the riiing SIM I have, it will automatically be connected to United Mobile even if it is an old one I ordered from Ebay, do you think?

I have a Callbackworld account anyway, but was curious about the old SIM and your opinion.

Where did you get that info from? riiing.de is still up and running. Seems United-Mobile offers the same tariffs as ring now. Where did you read that riiing will cease to exist? Thanks :-)

Sher...yes it will remain valid. No action is necessary on your part.

Logos...they e mailed me with the information. Here is what the e-mail said:

Dear Customer

To be able to offer you more services, we merged Travel SIM and Riiing. You will profit straight away from even more attractive prices, with incoming calls free in over 80 countries. A new design and a new name express these changes: United Mobile.

As a customer of the Travel SIM you will profit immediately and as a customer of Riiing you will profit from the new rate plan as from 1st of December 2005. Details are available under www.united-mobile.com.

You can use your existing SIM card as usual; the new rates will apply automatically.

Best regards

United Mobile

As noted, they are now selling the new sim on the web site www.united-mobile.com; no more necessity to go to ebay or pay telestial's ridiculous price.

I just tried recharging my riiing SIM using a united-mobile recharge code. Not working! At least not yet.

If you read the e mail it says the change for riiing is effective 01 December....remember united mobile used to have a different travel card which did not have the free roaming and in effect it seems they're merging that into riiing but keeping the united-mobile brand.
