Rex, I am so very pleased you are back with us again. I have always appreciated your straight-shooting pragmatism. I trust this no-nonsense attitude has helped with the NHL ordeal, but just in case, you will just have to bear with my prayers for another 40 years of tell-it-like-it-is Fodor-chat (and the travel that fuels it, of course!) Can't think about joining you in 2007, but I will look forward to something on offer in '09 esp. if you are interested in Marche-Abruzzo?

Rex, I am sorry to hear that the reason for your absence here has been such a difficult one, and I hope that you get stronger and stronger and enjoy many more trips and much more lively internet discussion.
Marianna, I hope you continue to improve and enjoy increased health and many travels in the future.

topping, kida... and offering thanks, once again, to all those who have added kind remarks and best wishes, since I posted here a week ago.
Still interested in a (Fodorites') trip in August or September...
marigross... write to me?

Glad to hear that one of the most helpful and nice fodorites is doing better. I have always learned a lot from your posts, thank you, Rex.
On a personal note, as one of the many many cancer survivors on this message board: Have faith; stay strong; be wimpy when you feel like it; and know that many people who don't know you except through cyber space are sending lots of positive thoughts/energy/prayers your way
Here's to many more good future journeys...for all of us!

Rex, I am glad you were able to come back here. I was diagnosed with NHL and spent an arduous 7 weeks in the hospital last spring.
Frankly, I'm glad to be...anywhere!
Best Wishes for continued remission,
BC
