Revisiting the Paris Visite
 

I know the Paris Visite card has evoked mixed feelings on this forum but I'm wondering whether this might still not be our best option.........we arrive in Paris at CDG early on Thursday morning and will leave for Bordeaux from CDG on Tuesday morning. There are four of us - my wife and I and our two daughters, 15 and 11. We plan to use the PV card to travel between CDG and central Paris and also to and from Disneyland Paris......this works out to about 28 Euros for an adult if I'm not wrong. The additional 18 Euros for the PV card could be worth it for the rest of the travel within Paris over five days (including the 3-4 Euro discount on the Seine river cruise). Any contrarian views ? Would love to hear from you Robespierre and/or Christina !!

The 5-day, 5-zone <i>Paris Visite</i> doesn't span both your arrival and departure days, so you'll have to shell out for an RER ticket one of those days. That totals &euro;53.55, by my reckoning.

An RER ticket on Thursday and Tuesday will get you all the way from/to your hotel M&eacute;tro station, plus <i>Mobilis</i> tickets for the rest of your days totals &euro;43.70

Plus, the kids can travel on <i>Tickets Jeunes</i> on the weekends.

18E EACH person might be a LOT of travel on the metro/bus for literally 3.5 days (since one of your remaining 4.5 will be going to Disney). So for the 3.5 days your transport would be 6E/day = about 4 trips (IF you were paying for each trip as with a carnet ticket). Looks like it might be a good deal for a change.

Of course, the entire discussion of <i>tickets &quot;t&quot;</i> vs. <i>Mobilis</i> applies to your situation (see link). If you're going <u>only</u> to Disneyland one day, then a single RER ticket might be cheaper (at least for the adults).

I had completely forgotten that we would need to purchase a seperate RER ticket on the last day !

Just wanted to know how much the Mobilis ticket costs ? Also any info on Tickets Jeunes ? Couldn't find anything on the RATP website.......

We returned from a great trip to Paris and France several weeks ago. Robespierre's advice was spot on. We used a return RER ticket to get us to and from CDG and a Mobilis ticket on the day we had to go to EuroDisney. The rest of the time we used the carnet tickets which are 10 Euros for a pack of 10. The reality is that you ACTUALLY don't use the metro that much - there is just so much you can see or do every day. We saved a lot of money by not buying the Paris Visite card..........thanks Robespierre !!
