Review of Vueling Airlines

We are thinking of using Vueling Airlines to fly from Paris to Rome.
I have never heard of them. Has anybody ever flown with them?

lincasanova Mar 3rd, 2008 06:28 AM

they are fine.. new.. clean and on time.

Used them last week. It was fine. You may have problems buying your ticket online with your CC though. See this post:

vueling are very nice, young and quality for being a budget airline. remind me of jetblue in the states.

I was happy with them. New planes, they use the major airports, and you can reserve seats.

I had a great deal of problems booking my flight online. i emailed them multiple times and finally got a reply that they were having problems with US credit cards. I finally called them in Spain and had no problems boooking over the phone.

They were fine--no problems at all.

I took four Vueling flights this past summer - the service is good, but two of the flights were delayed and upon arriving in Lisbon I found that they had severely dented my hard-case suitcase. For the price you pay, it's good enough (putting aside the suitcase destruction).

BTW, before you buy your ticket, make sure you read the section on hand luggage. If you don't think your luggage will fit the carryon requirement, you'll save $ by paying for your checked luggage in advance instead of waiting until you get to the airport.

Yes, it's a budget airline and it nickels and dimes you on anything extra.

I just booked a flight online with Vueling. I had no problems.

Bringing back to the top. Any other reviews of Vueling airlines?

lincasanova Apr 30th, 2008 05:52 AM

how many more good reports do you need??

like all low cost airlines, the advice you have been given on luggage is important.

otherwise, one of the nicer, cleaner, new airlines.

Dukey Apr 30th, 2008 06:10 AM

Buying luggage that will withstand almost anything is sometimes "worth it."

As to Vueling...what is the alternative?????

They were one of three my Italian cousin recommended for my local Venice to Paris flight. She highly recommended Vueling, however, Air France had better deal for my important departure time. You will be fine with Vueling. There are many smaller airlines Americans are not familiar with and this is one of them. HAVE FUN!!

I booked Vueling for this July Paris - Rome one way.. I was happy with price.

To the poster who mentioned their dented suitcase,, you are kidding right?? I mean EVERY airline dents and damages suitcases. That is a non issue .

It was difficult to book Vueling online though, went through a three or four day dance with them ,, the site would not accept my CC, but finally did, and their were loads of excuses why it was so difficult. Oh well got ticket now.

Frankly for what I am paying, and for such a short flight, I just want safe and semi reliable and it seems to more then fit the bill.

Worst airline I have ever dealt with. They get you in with low ticket prices then hold you over a barrel and shake out as much money as they can once you arrive for your flight. They tell you one thing then when you show up at the airport they say you need to pay this fee and that fee or you can just not get on the flight, with no refund. They even charge to assign you a seat, then we get to our plane and they say seating is first come first serve. I asked about the extra money I paid to have assigned seats and the same response of too bad if you don't like it get off the plane. I will never do buisness with them again and hope to see them go out of buisness sone with thier horrible service and shady tactic. Grey hound of the skys is the best way to describe them.

Took a couple of Vueling flights in late 2006 and had no problems at all. They were good.

I might be missing it on the site, but regarding on-line check-in for Vueling, two questions:

1) It doesn't look like it is required. Can someone confirm if you are charged extra to check in at the airport?

2) If one does check in on-line, how far in advance of the flight does on-line check-in open? (ie, BA is 24 hours, RyanAir is 15 days)

Thanks -

Ackislander Aug 31st, 2009 04:40 AM

Is online checkin even available?
We checked in at the airport without problems. The experience reminded me a lot of the USAirways NY and Washington shuttles.

asalamy Aug 31st, 2009 06:19 AM

Yes, on-line check in is evidently available, but it is good to know you used the airport check in without any issues (or additional costs).
