returning to paris from dordogne

we are visiting the Dordogne region next month. We are going to fly into bergerac and rent a car for a few days. I am trying to determine the best itinerary or town to drop the car and return to Paris by train. Sarlat? Brive? Drive up to perigueux? As we are only there for a few days, I need to be "efficient". Suggestions?

You have this tagged as a trip report, which may be why folks aren't responding.

Don't drop the car in Sarlat - lousy train connections. Drop it in Brive and take the TGV or Périgueux and take the regional train, or Libourne or Bordeaux and take the TGV.

Thank you! I am not sure how to change that or if I just need to resubmit as a discussion forum.

I don't think you can change it yourself. You can email the Fodors editors and ask them, I think.

topping - this was lumped in w/ the trip reports but that got fixed.

Hopefully you'll get some suggestions now . . . .
