Resturants & Pubs

I read where sneakers are not allowed in a lot of Pubs & resturants in Dublin. Yes this true?

Only high heeled sneakers are allowed in the finer Dublin establishments ... and they must match your outfit. Many have been known to have their sneakers died just for this purpose.

ooops dyed ... gee I wish we could go back and edit. It would save bumbling idiots like me.

Bill

Absolute rubbish! It only applies for nightclubs or upmarket places. I remember the same rules when we went into a place in NJ a few years ago. A regular pub would not even look at your shoes.

And even in nightclubs, you can get away with it (I don't generally wear them, but a lot of my friends do) depending on the style and the rest of your outfit.

Nightclubs/"trendy bars" are more likely to refuse a guy wearing runners than a girl.

Hi jphil,

If you just walk in confidently, as if you belonged there, no one will think that you are a sneaker.
