Henry, <BR>In Madrid try La Trainera, Lagasca 60, 576 0575. Excellent fish in a swanky neighborhood. Moderate+ to expensive ( there's a fairly recent post recommending this spot with more details). <BR> <BR>In Seville, try Casablanca, Zaragoza 50 near Plaza Nueva. Go for extraordinary tapas, easily a meal. Veal with wild mushrooms, bacalao with saffron and mint; everything is fresh and delicious. <BR>moderate+ to expensive (those little dishes add up). Also, try El Codero in the Triana district for superb grilled lamb ( I have the address and phone at home. Email me if you are interested) <BR> <BR>Have a good trip.

Henry, <BR> <BR>We had a wonderful but inexpensive meal at a restaurant called Casa Mingo down on the Paseo de la Florida. It is right across the street from the Ermita of goya which is a beautiful little chapel with frescoes by Goya and he is also buried there. At Casa Mingo they only serve the most delicious roasted chicken I have ever had and there special beverage is Asturian hard cider which is great. <BR> <BR>In Sevilla we especially enjoyed both an indoors lunch in the dining room of the Hosteria del Laurel and on another night we spent a couple of hours at their outside tables enjoying tapas and wine. For a more special splurge I suggest La Albahaca which is an upscale and wonderful more formal restaurant in the Plaza de Santa Cruz (across from Los Gallos). Good Luck, Maria

Casa Botin (Sobrino de Botin) is the classic spot in Madrid for roast suckling pig. Older than the hills, a favorite spot. <BR> <BR>Also excellent: Casa Paco. Specialty is steak but a wide variety on the menu. The trick here is that the steaks are served on &gt;very&lt; hot plates. Hot enough that you can cook your meat on them. Your steak will come quite rare. If you wish it cooked more, just slice off a bite and sear it on the plate. When your plate begins to cool down, the waiter will bring another at your request.
