Restuarants in Saint Germain area of Paris
 

Can you please recommend your favorite restaurants for dinner in Saint Germain.
We will only be spending 2 nights in Paris.

Last trip I tried Chez Clement, La Jacobine and Le Petit Zinc. I thoght all three were good. Clement is part of a small chain, but don't lt that deter you. Rue St Andre des Arts. menu on line. Also nearby is small La Jacobine, had good maigret of duck and fish soup there. Le Petit Zinc is classic bistrot. Specialties seemed to be fish.

I also have had lunch at Cafe Bonaparte (in front of st Germain des Pres church).

Lots of restaurants in that area. Les Bouqinistes is on banks iof Seine, bit upscale and often recommended. If you head east along Seine (6th/5th) you will find many restuarants, some with patios and views of Notre Dame.

Les Bouqinistes is good, also Chez Fernand on rue Christine, Le Reminet on rue de grand degres,Del Papa on rue de seine..I think!Ze Kitchen Galerie, Chez Christine, Le Atlas..There are way too many to list in walking distance and all we've tried have been good. I too love Cafe Bonaparte for a drink while watching the world go by!The only place I'd avoid is Leon de Bruxelles, much better mussels anywhere else!

Petite Pontoise on rue Pontoise just off Blvd St. Germaine in the Maubert Mutualite metro area is delightful and quintessentially Paris.

If you feel like something more casual closer to Saint Germain itself is a little street called rue des Cannettes-which is our favorite pizza street-3 really good wood fire oven places, Positano, Chez Bartolo and our favorite called Santa Lucia (mostly because the restaurant isn't as tight quarters as the other 2)at 22 rue des Canettes.

Chez Rene is a classic old bistrot, border of 5th. Catherine Deneuve used to go.

I forgot Petit Pontoise and also Itineraries and pre Verre is not that far away!

I enjoyed Le Procope, 13, rue de l'Ancienne Comédie, the shellfish platter was magnifique! It's close to Saint Germain and is known as one of the oldest restaurants in Paris.
