Restrictions in Naples
 

Considering the high transmissibility of Omicron, a lot can change over the next 10-14 days.

My theory is... if you're asking whether you should cancel, you already (sorta) know the answer for you.

And, assuming you're in the U.S., there's the State Dept. advisory that U.S. citizens should currently avoid all travel to Italy.

But everyone has their own comfort level with regard to Covid risk and the travel inconveniences that exist or may be imposed after you arrive. Your call.

I personally wouldn't go because things are changing by the day . . . sometimes by the hour.

Campania is currently classified as a white zone - everything should be open, assuming you are vaccinated you can get in to places and there are not very many restrictions.

It’s a long way from the US so I’m thinking you maybe are not flying from there for a four day stay. If you are, testing to go and to return might be more trouble than it is worth at this point in time.

I think rialtogrl makes a very relevant point. If it's only 4 days, and one of the days is a holiday, you may find it difficult or time-consuming to get the return test.

Also, Campagna is in the White Zone, but holiday events are being cancelled throughout the country regardless of zone classification. A national curfew has been imposed for New Year's Eve from 10:00 p.m. I don't know if that means all of the Naples fireworks shows and public concerts are cancelled outright or will be held earlier in the evening, but I'd bet on cancelled.

Naples was our last stop for a trip this past October that started in Milan, flying out of the airport at 6 a.m.

That was full-on Delta but pre-Omicron; we were vaxxed and boosted and Italy seemed interested in having responsible tourists.

In Milan, Venice, Florence, and Ravello, masks and caution were ubiquitous, indoors and out. In Naples, not quite so much, though our hotel was cautious, as was the Archeological Museum.

For specific restrictions I'd follow the usual state dept/health ministry sites as recommended above.
