Restaurants in Tours
We'll be in Tours 22-24 Sept. Any suggestions for restaurants in the €70-€80 range, dinner and a bottle of wine? We are staying at the Hotel Tourone but we have no problem with using public transportion, trams, bus, Metro.
Let me amend that, €40-50 range.
Is that per person or for two people?
Adrienne, that would be for 2. Is that unrealistic? We are on bicycles if that tells you anything regarding price.
Adrienne, let me add. One of our favorite meals in France is moules and frites. Best we've had was on the Contentin peninsula and a Belgian restaurant in Toulouse.

I can't help with Tours restaurants (wanted clarification for others with Tours experience) but I do know that I can eat decently in Paris for E25 with wine so I would say that you definitely can have a decent dinner in Tours for that amount.
I don't recall seeing much info on this board for Tours so I would look at TripAdvisor for Tours restaurants. Or check a guidebook. The problems with searching for info on Tours is that you get info on tours. |
The reason there's not much info on these boards about Tours is that it's not a particularly pleasant place to stay and the traffic getting into and out of it can be a nightmare. Since you're doing a bike tour of the Loire, it would surely be a more relaxing and pleasant trip if you chose to stay elsewhere, like Amboise or Blois or Chinon. I can't imagine biking back into Tours after a lovely day of pedaling around, say, Chambord and Chenonceaux.
