I have been to Le Repaire de Cartouche and Chateaubriand and liked them both very much.
However, my visit to Repaire de Cartouche was several years ago and I have since read that they are quite unfriendly to tourists, so...? Le Chateaubriand is great if you're open to experimental food and just trying what's served. I loved it the night I went, but I know others have had different experiences--sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, etc. One menu only per evening so no choices, really. I'm pretty game when on vacation so I had lots of fun but I get the feeling it may not be for everyone. It's a "fashionable" restaurant or something. I will say the waiters are astonishingly handsome. And the chef's not bad either. |
Thanks so much, looking forward to trying several of those restaurants,2 weeks and counting...

NO need to stay in the 11th every night! Paris has excellent transportation and is easy to navigate. You can check out metro and bus routes on the RATP website. Our new favorite is in the 5th , Bistro des Gastronomes on Rue Cardinal Lemoine, right off Blvd St Germain bus route
