Restaurants in Paris 6eme St. Michel
My parents are coming to visit me in Paris over the Thankgiving holiday. They are renting an appartment in the 6eme right near St. Michel. I know this area is pretty trouisty, but does anyone have recommendations, for satisfying, not necessarily expensive restaurants in the area that aren't huge tourist traps? Thanks! I don't eat at too many restaurants on a student's budget!

Le Petit Pontoise, Le Reminet, Chez Fernand ( the one on rue Christine) Allard , Les Bouquinstres, and the list goes on!
|
Avoid rue de la Huchette "Bacteria Alley".
|
I actually really liked Le Petit Pontoise a great deal. It is very small and the food is affordable and very good. It's also open on Sundays so you might want to save it for your Sunday option.
You can choose from the menu or order separately. The ravioli dauphanoise was to die for as was the roasted scallop salad. |
Hi C,
Vesuvio, across the Boul St G from the St G church is a very good Italian/French resto with a wood burning pizza oven. www.vagenende.fr/us/index.html has a 25E menu. What's your budget? ((I)) |
"Bacteria alley".....love it!:)
The one and only time I ate in a restaurant there, there was a dead pigeon under the table.....eeeeuuuwwww! The Cafe des Editeurs is a nice combination of literary echoes and decent food. |
I just had a very nice, not expensive dinner at Editeurs about a week and a half ago. I recommend it.

Nearby in the fifth arrondissement:
Le Pre Verre, 8 rue Thenard, 01 43 54 59 47 Le Petit Prince de Paris, 12 rue de Lanneau, 01 43 54 77 26 |
You might try "Ciao Bella" at
6 Boul St Germain. Italian as you'd guess from the name. Very personable owner/chef who speaks excellent English from his 35 years in New York. Rob |

courty77,
We liked Aux Charpentiers, located at 10, rue Mabillon 75006. Sandy |
courty77,
Be sure to take your parents to Amorino for wonderful gelato, located at 4, rue de Buci 75006. A sandwich at Cosi is inexpensive, but good. Cosi is located not far from Amorino, at 54, rue de Seine. Sandy |
Bouillon Racine
3, rue Racine 75006 Paris Tel: 01 44 32 15 60 Just off Bd Saint Michael between-ish Luxembourg Gardens & Sorbonne area |
Restaurant POLIDOR
41, rue Monsieur Le Prince, 75006 Paris Fish, Rue de Seine |
I was way, way underwhelmed by Polidor, except for its historic significance.
|
Polidor... not the best food but we had a blast there one night soaking up the atmosphere. Great people watching....
|
I love Les Bouquinistes (a Guy Savoy restaurant). Someone else mentioned it but got the spelling wrong, so I thought I'd give it another mention in case you are googling it!
|
You might want to google it under
LES BOOKINISTES, that was the original name when it opened quite a few years ago when we started going there. I hadn't noticed the name change until our trip last year since the phone number was in my travel notebook. |
Fish la Boissonnerie
