We absolutley loved Restaurant Anticipation several years ago, and thought it even better last September. Here's the Fodor's review with the address and phone number, don't know about May 1 tho.
Light, creative dishes using the region's famed specialties (such as poulet de Bresse) are carefully prepared here by John Rosiak, a former cook at Georges Blanc. The homey feel makes it a place where you can settle in for an evening of good fare and fun. AE, MC, V. Closed Mon. No dinner Sun. Robjame, I'd suggest trying La Maison Villemanzy for your May 1 dinner (. Their weekly closing day is Sunday, not Monday so they *should* be open. You'll be able to get a taxi there - just ask the hotel. Although the food isn't as high a standard as le Caro de Lyon, it's still pretty good - and you'll never forget the view :)
Or, if you want a real splurge, try La Tour Rose (www.tour-rose.com). It's within walking distance of your hotel and is renowned as one of the city's top restaurants (also a luxury hotel). The cuisine is lovely (I'll admit to finding it very rich, however) and the setting is stunning, in a beautiful renaissance building in the heart of the old town. It's not usually closed on Mondays, so there's a chance it'll be open on May 1. I'll have another think for some other alternatives... H |
