Just returned from our trip last week. We also ate at La Grillade (our hotel, La Villa Eugene recommended it) in Epernay and enjoyed it very much. We walked by it in the afternoon and I was dubious of the decor. Reservations are necessary as it is small and they are not open that late.
In Reims we ate at Au Petit Comptoir for lunch (just walked by at lunch time-we knew nothing about it) and it was heavenly!! I think it was the most expensive meal in the whole three weeks we were away but it was worth every penny! The staff in particular were very helpful in the translations and made us feel very comfortable. This is the meal we will talk about for along time!

Chablis has a lovely mid price restuarant in the mill that sits over the river in the middle of town.
Nuit St George has two restaurants owned by the same family, both of which are relatively highly priced but not worth it. Going up to Beunne there is another old mill to the south of the town with at least one Michelin star. Pretty good 4 years ago
Reims has a great square called the forum (guess which country named it that...?) which has a wide range of restaurants all the way around. Lots of choicce but a also Brittany fish restaurant to the West down a side street for 200m called "le Petit,,,,,"
