Restaurants in Bois de Boulogne and Bois de Vincennes
we're planning to venture out to some of the parks in Paris that we've never been to. I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion on either Le Chalet des Iles in the Bois de Boulogne and Le Chalet des Iles Daumesnil in the Bois de Vincennes? We would be interested in possibly having lunch at one or the other -- or both.

Never been. Bois de Boulogne has been known for decades for its prostitues (male female, trans) and I usually avoid the area at night (not that I'd feel unsafe but I'd rather be elsewhere actually).

I've not been to the restaurants you mention, vanne, have been to the Bois de Boulogne a couple times to have lunch on the terrace at La Grande Cascade, which is a wonderful, beautiful, classic restaurant with a modern touch. Expensive, though they have a good set menu deal. An indulgent way to spend a sunny afternoon.

On both occasions, I strolled through the park in the vicinity of the restaurant, very pleasant and busy with families.
If you do go to Le Chalet des Iles I'll be interested to read about your experience. Have fun!

Bedar, Leely2, and Marja - Thanks for the info. -- unfortunately although they look fabulous, Pre Catalan and La Grande Cascade are way out of our budget. I wish ...
WoinParis - I have read about the park after dark, but we would be going during the day. Thanks for the tip though -- and your recent posts!
