Restaurants in Amsterdam
 

Hi,
I am currently living in De Pijp, Amsterdam and I am finding it hard to find good food at reasonable prices. I am not looking for 5 star restaurants but just general suggestions for everyday type food that has a good menu and good prices.
Any help would be great!

"Reasonable" being a very subjective term, perhaps you'd get a better response if you supplied a dollar figure, and with/without drinks.

I guess a dollar figure for a meal would be between 5.00-10.00 Euros including a drink.

I suppose what I am about to ask you will be considered, by some, a stupid question, but why don't you ask your friends in Amsetrdam to make recommendations..or is that part of the problem?

i suggest you go take a walk, if you can't find food in your price range in amsterdam, you must be blind.

I am not familiar with the area of Amsterdam you are in, but we found several reasonably priced places near the Rembrandplein and museumplein. If you click on my name above, you will find my trip report of London-Paris-Amsterdam, with specific names of restaurants and cafes we liked. Some were about 30 EU for their three-course fixed prix, but two cafes I remember were Cafe Katoen, across from the Hotel l'Europe, and Cafe Jardin, between the Hotel l'Europe and Hotel Doelan. Cafe Katoen was more a student hang-out, but it's very friendly, with good food and great prices. Nice location on the corner by the canal, too. It's next door to the Hotel Residence le Coin, where we stayed, so we ate at Katoen twice for lunch and breakfast.
