Experience new foods, and you might be pleasantly surprised how your teen adapts, possibly even liking it in the process.

I was shocked when my 11 year old, eater of only basic foods at home, launched off into tartare du saumon, carpaccio of beef and chevre - all of his own free will because everyone else in the group was partaking! Now he can't wait until May when he makes his second trip. He's particularly looking forward to the tartare du saumon.

LOL, cute, crepes a go go~ I can picture it now. No amount of parental reassurance that it really does taste good will make them taste, but if no one says anything and they just observe, they are ready to try something that even you might not want to taste lol..at least that was the way it was with us.
My son loved the smelliest cheeses and hottest mustards as a little guy..as a matter of fact, he still does :D

As a former semi-difficult child, I can confirm that a lot of resistance to certain things is play-acting in front of the parents or friends. A change of continent often allows one to break free of the mold of expected behavior once and for all.
