Restaurant suggestions on or near Rue de Sevres

My wife and I will be staying in an apartment on the rue de Sevres in October. Any suggestons as to restaurants in the area?
Thanks,
JL

I can't give specific recos, but in an effort to bring your post to the top and provide general info, if you go to www.pagesjaunes.fr (the yellow pages in France) you can enter the address of your apt. & find out what restaurants are nearby. I believe the Rue de Sevres may fall in 2 different arrondisements. The "top" falls in the 6th where these 2 restaurants are listed

Petit Lutétia (Au)
107 r Sèvres 75006 PARIS | 01 45 48 33 53

Cheng Alain
121 r Sèvres 75006 PARIS | 01 40 65 90 92

The website also has a full rest. listing by arr. You can see photos & get maps (plan). If you click on the British flag you can get info in English.

Have a great trip!

From the upper end, near metro Sevres-Babylone, you could walk to La Petite Chaise, 36 rue de Grenelle (at the end of rue de la Chaise). From the other end, near metro Duroc, you could walk to Le Bistro de Breteuil, 3 place de Breteuil.

Both are very good and have menus in the 30-35 euro range.

As mclaurie suggests, it would be helpful to know where on rue de Sevres your apartment is located as it is quite a long street. Enjoy Paris!

Thank you both for your replies. The apartment is about 3-4 blocks from the Bon Marche. This place is #125 so both Petit Lutetia and Cheng Alain should be very close. And the ones you suggest Betty1,should not be too far either.
I am writing the names in my little black book.

I think you must be renting the apartment La Cigogne at 125rue de Sevres. You will enjoy the area and love the apartment. We rented the owners other apartment last year and visited the one on Sevres. There is a lovely restaurant called La Grande Rue at117 rue de Vaugirard not far from the apartment. It is small so make a reservation 01 47 34 96 12. Have a tarte au deux citron, buerre d'orange for me!

Yes, laidback, it is La Cigogne. Glad to know you saw the place. Did you rent La Cigale? We are very excited about our trip, and we are already dieting to compensate for all the tartes au deux citron and everything else...
Thanks again

I haven't eaten there myself, but friends whose opinion I trust on all food-related matters speak highly of Le Bamboche, at 15 rue de Babylone. They ate there when they were in Paris last year, and liked it so much they went back the next night.

I wanted to try to eat at Bambouche when I was in Paris a few weeks ago, but I couldn't make it. The Michelin guide gives this a "Bib Gourmande" (?), i.e., it thinks that it's great value. I've read some very complimentary reviews.

Well, we will definetly try Bambouche. Even the name sounds appealing. By the way, you said you were in Paris a few weeks ago, so I suppose that was in the middle of that horrible heat wave. Hope you had an AC place. We will be going in October, so hopefully the temperatures will be in a more normal range.

To answer you about the other apartment question....... Yes it was La Cigale. We loved it and it was a new neighborhood for us. I also forgot to mention a couple of other places near you. L'Epi Dupin, La Cigale for souffles, Nemrod(a brasserie) Don't forget to go to La Grande Epicerie at Bon Marche and the cheese shop across from your apartment Quattrehommes. Have a great trip.

Thank you laidback. We will try all of those.
