Restaurant Recommendations Paris July

My companion and I are major foodies and enjoy active city trips with a big gastronomic part.

Commonly, we walk around the city the whole day and go for a very nice (fine-dining) experience in the evening.

We try to find local spots and places that are harder to find back home (Belgium) or that are world-known to be superb.

In London, for example, we had a world famous ice-cream for lunch (don't judge ;-) ) and in the evening enjoyed a michelin-starred Indian, which we cannot find in our own neighborhood, and managed to do something similar for a couple of days straight. It was a great experience to do multiple diverse fine dining restaurants over several days and get to enjoy cuisines and styles we don't have back home

So, we enjoy unique/known/fun/exotic/special/renowned places and fine-dining restaurants with tasting menu's. We enjoy every type of cuisine (Asian, vegetarian, nordic, ... ), nothing is out-of-bounds, and generally go for those more unique experiences. Our budget allows for all possible options.

I like your style! I will recommend a few of mine.

L'Ami Jean Unfortunately (or fortunately for Stephane Jego) this has gotten really popular and it's a bit crowded and chaotic but always fun. The food is top notch. Go for the tasting menu and let Stephane delight you. Book early and I recommend the 9 pm slot for dinner.

La Table d'Eugene This is a tiny out of the way spot in the 18eme. There are two degaustation menus; one with 5 courses, one with 8. The 8 course will leave you rolling out the door, but when I have the 5 I'm afraid I might be missing something fabulous. Go for the wine pairings! Generous pours and great pairings.

Le Mandragore This is in Hotel Particulier, a botique 5 suite hotel hidden in a garden behind private gates and up cobbled alley ways. Trickiest part is finding it! But the degaustation menu with the wine pairings is again superb! Chef Thibaut Spiwack is a creative force. In July you will be likely seated in the garden.

L'Oiseau Blanc, on the roof of the Paris Peninsula Restaurant has amazing views and really good food. We were there on July 14th and were treated to the spectacular fireworks last year.

Also consider Les Ombres, atop the Musee Quay Branley. It has some great Eiffel Tower views and good food too.

Enjoy!
