Restaurant recommendations in Cinque Terre
We have 2 nights in Monterosso, we leave this Thursday! Anyone have any restaurant recommendations?

Unfortunatly, neither of my favorite are in Monterosso, but he trains and boats work well.
My very favorite is in Portovenere, but you will have to take a ferry because the town is not linked via train. That being said it is a beautiful ferry ride and the town is wonderful and the restaurant is spectacular. The restaurant is called Il Bocche and it is a great place for lunch (they are closed Monday and Tuesday Lunch). Another good place is Gambero Rosso in Vernazza. Very good food, sitting in a wonderful small piazza. I have been at a few places in Montorosso but it has been too many years to know if the recommendation is still good. |
L'Ancora della Tortuga is near the tunnel leading to the old town. You want an outdoor table. While you can get a table by making a reservation on the same day, you probably want a sea side table by reserving earlier. Diners around us were French or Italians. This is a place if you want a quiet restaurant to feel the gentle breeze overlooking the ocean on a calm night.
Il Moretto near Piazza Garibaldi. I liked their pesto dishes. La Cambusa nearby, also on Via Roma, was also ok. Be sure to make reservations even if it is only one hour ahead. |
Osteria a Cantina de Mananan

Here's a more detailed comment from a reviewer as to Osteria a Cantina de Mananan--lovely comments:
