We will be staying in Gordes this summer and wondered about eating dinner in Roussilon. What would be someone's recommendation?

I just found out that the 2 nights we will be at Mas des Carissins, they are not serving dinner as it will be a weekend. (boo hoo).

I see some ideas for St. Remy in some of the lists. Of all the restaurants that are not too far from St. Remy, is there a favorite place to go to in place of Mas des Carissins? Just curious if one is absolutely better than all the others.

Also, what are the normal "dinner hours" in Provence/Luberon?

Everyone has different tastes or may not have had great service the night they were there, so everything is objective. You have several in St Remy, Frederic's Garden Le Jaune Maison,, café des Alpilles, Cafe des Artistes, great to sit outside and watch the parade of people or nearby like Domaine de Valmouriane, and Le Vallon de Valrugues that are more upscale
but all the others mentioned in this thread are all worth your while.
I'll be staying a night and dining at the L'Hotel De L'ímage in St Remy so I can't say yet how good the Japanesse/French menu is this year.

I'm not a Fodor "foodie" although I do like to eat! When we ate in Rousillon we chose a restaurant with availablity that had a view of the sunset over the red rocks. Not very scientific process at all - but the meal was great. We parked where we could find a parking spot, looked up toward the voices, laughter and music and walked up those tiny steps cut into the pink walls to the upper level of town - and enjoyed a great meal.

In fact, we did not have a bad meal in France - and the only reservation we made was for Jules Verne in the Tour Eiffel.

I would make reservations for around 8:00PM or even later on week-ends.

Also for dinner recommendations in or near St. Remy, please listen to Patricia. She really knows what she is talking about - you can't go wrong. Trust me.
