Restaurant recommendations for Milan

We will be there almost 2 days---would love recommendations for lunch and dinner....we are attending opera at La Scala 1 night so need a place close by. Also a lunch place near the fashion area?

This months' issue of Bon Appetit (May 08) The Travel Issue, has a page on restaurants and trattorias in Milan. Last June we were in Milan and the following restaurant was recommended as an excellent seafood restaurant and one that locals frequent.
It was excellent, although it is not near the duomo or La Scala. Here is the web address www.ristorantemediterranea.it

miss carol,
i will buy it, too! thanks.

Wordsmith,
I am hopeful, too, for restaurant recommendations, as we will have two dinners and 1 lunch in Milan! so thanks for posting!

Below are suggestions i've gotten so far:
(we're staying at the Westin Palace)

Da Ilia - one of our favorites and only a short walk from Westin Palace

La Cadrega- local lunch spot where we all enjoyed delicious food, drinks, desserts and great prices. Very casual and a 5 min. walk from Westin Palace. www.hosterialacadrega.it

La Torre di Pisa - one of Brera's quaintest restaurants, a Tuscan-style trattoria that's always packed (Via Fiori Chiari 21/5; 39-02-874-877). You can't go wrong with the wonderfully spicy spaghetti alla puttanesca (10 euros) and the Robespierre, a hot platter of sliced Fiorentina steak, potatoes and vegetables (52 euros for two)..

Papa Francisco's --

From the Duomo go through Galleria, turn right. It is about 1/2 block. Great food!

Would love any comments if anyone has eaten at any of these or others...

Thanks!
