Restaurant recommendation in Lisbon
We only have 1 night for a really great meal in Lisbon. Any recommendations for a great, authentic, non-touristy place? Any price range ok, but prefer rustic (don't like stiff formal places). We are in Mid-40's.
View and romantic (candlelit) preferred but food experience most important. Thanks! |
Consider the restaurant Ibo. You should specify when you reserve you want a table with a viw of the river.

This will give you a better idea of the food and setting at Ibo

Thank you so much, we went and got there just after it closed so we sadly missed it, but it was perfect for what we asked for
We wNt next door instead which was also great. Now looking for another place in Lisbon old style, authentic Portugese w character and great food. Maybe in old town? Any other recommendations? |
Bon Jardim, which mainly is famed for its roast chicken.
http://www.oliverthring.com/2009/11/...on-review.html If you want someplace very homey with seafood (grilled sardines, octopus, etc), try Restaurante do Calcada https://www.zomato.com/grande-lisboa...-rossio-lisboa |
I should add that Bom Jardim is probably in every guidebook, and so you are likely to be sharing space with lots of tourists, although I don't think it has affected what they serve (since they really only serve one thing!)
Do Calcada, on the other hand, only gets tourists who end up taking a side street and finding it by accident. In both cases, the food is simple and straightforward, fun if you want something casual and atmospheric because it feels very much a part of the traditional neighborhood. |
Check out Lisboa á noite in the Bairro Alto (www.lisboanoite.com).
