restaurant ratings on web-london

I am looking for a website that will rate restaurants in London accurately and critically. Too many tourist boards list everything without any help on quality and value. Any suggestions?

Quality and value according to whom? Those things are very personal. One person's "too expensive" is another person's "great value". I believe you are likely to get better answers from boards like these which offer specific suggestions and comments.

Yes, I found two great sources for restaurant ratings. One is http://www.zagat.com and the other is http://www.squaremeal.co.uk/.

Bon appetit!

Try also toptable.co.uk. I use it for business lunches.

Barbara - My favourite is www.hardens.com. It judges with numerical values for Food, Service and Ambience and is always spot on with its views. It is run by 2 brothers and is completely independent. A lot of the comments are very amusing as well as honest. Other than that Zagats is a useful point of reference.

Hope this helps
Andrew

Thank you to those that replied today with web based restaurant reviews. I look forward to checking them out. To the individual who thought restaurant judging was too subjective, I do believe that a good review can fairly indicate expense level by giving price range and quality by a rating system. Haven't we all been to really good restaurants and others that are a roughly equivilent type, but not good at all? I found a web newspaper restaurant review source in preparing for Palm Beach this winter. The restaurants that were recommended were outstanding. The only marginal experience we had was one we picked at random. A little research and guidance can be very helpful. I welcome more suggestions. Thanks!

Without question the best (most accurate ) is www.hardens.com.

It is reviewed by 2000 "normal" people, and they compile a collective result, scoring from 1 (excellent) to 5 (don't go there) for food, ambience and service. They're very tough – nowhere is EVER ranked 111, so anywhere ranked 112 (or 121 or 211) will be fantastic. It also covers all price ranges, and is completely impartial. They make their money from selling the book, not from bribes from restaurants.
