Restaurant Lasserre?

We will be in France next month and want to try Lasserre Restuarant. Has anyone been there? My daughter is a vegetarian, will this be a problem?

I will be there for dinner April 6...I'm back April 12th, will let you know about our experience!

Ursula Mar 26th, 2002 04:55 AM

Wendy, I am sure it will be great. I am thinking about Le Grand Vefour or Le Violon d'Ingres in May.
How's your Agadir trip plan going?

If you're interested in art, don't miss the surrealist exhibition at the Georges Pompidou and the Mondrian at the d'Orsay.
Two musts on my list.

there were some postings on Lasserre within the past few weeks, try just scrolling down on the left, or
doing a search on the restaurant's name.
It's been a long time since I've been there, but I loved it.
Can't speak to vegetarian dishes, you might want to call ahead and inquire.
You can also check the Rants & Raves comments elsewhere on this Fodor's site to see if it's listed.
Ursula,

Thank you! I will be in Paris March 28-April 12, and we are going to Violin d'Ingres, Lasserre, Jamin, not real sure about Bookinistes, Au Dauphin, just for starters...

Morocco is going great for accomodation (Agadir Beach Club or Club Med) it is the airfare from NYC there that is through the roof!!!!!!

Wen

Lasserre is my wife's favorite spot so we go there on each trip. No problem for a vegan--lots of choices. If you are looking for the prix-fixe luncheon menu you will have fewer options.

There is a nice article about the restaurant on bonjourparis.com. If you can't find it I can e-mail it to you.

Lisa,

I just read an article on L'Arpege (Chef Alain Passard) and he has taken almost all red meat off his menu making it a haven for vegetarians. This is a 3 star restaurant. The article was from Conde Nast Traveler Sept 2001.

Ursula Mar 26th, 2002 09:00 AM

Wendy: I think L'Arpege is totally vegetarian now. A fact that keeps me from going, to be honest. I would at least love some seafood.

Wendy Mar 26th, 2002 09:36 AM

He left seafood and fish and a few fowl dishes on the menu. But no red meat.

http://www.alain-passard.com/flash/carte/carte.htm

Actually I see beef on that menu (right?) so it may be old. But the artlicle did state that fish, lobster and his famous pigeon have been left on.
