Restaurant in Paris to celebrate?

I will celebrate my 40th birthday in Paris with 4 friends and am looking for a great restaurant to celebrate in. Am open to something tucked away, or a little bit hip, or just plain french. A Parisien flavour is a prerequisite. Any ideas? Budget: up to 75 Euro per person, incl wine. Merci!

Linda,

We found a great little restaurant in the Maraias on a recent trip, called "Le Pamphlet". I understand it has been recently favorably mentioned in Michelin. We dined there two of the three nights in Paris. Food is very imaginative, service tres amiable and well within your budget. Note area is like the Village, SOHO in New York. Happy Birthday!

The bistro Au Petit Marguery would be great--dining there always have the feel of a celebration. There's just a special feeling in the air in that restaurant.

Chez Jean in the 8th is wonderful. We ate there last week. 6 courses for 58 euro, 3 for 34! Inventive food with service from the former headwaiter of Talliavent. Please go!
