We also loved La Palomba. It caters to discerning tourists, so don't expect a lot of locals to be dining. That said, the staff and owner are very engaging and the food was delicious.

On this last trip we only stopped in Orvieto for lunch. I forget the place, just one of those with a big outdoor seating area kind of in the middle of the city. We then drove on to Villa Clementina thanks to Jean above, where we had dinner that night -- just us, in ended up, a "private" dinner that was superb.
