Restaurant Help in Rome

We will be in Rome soon for 4 days. We have our list of sites and target days to go to them, but haven't thought about food! There are so many threads listing so many good restaurants its very overwhelming. However, I cannot seem to find a thread that lists restaurants by tourist attraction (if there is one, I apologize for a multiple post).

Can anyone recommend good restaurants by specific tourist attractions for breakfast, lunch (and maybe dinner), along with any other information you may have (eg. price, reservations required, etc)? I want to create a "cheat sheet" of recommended restaurants, so ideally - if we are near the Pantheon and decide we're hungry, I can look at the cheat sheet and know what is highly recommend nearby and void tourist traps. (FYI - we will probably plan on a few very nice dinners, but other meals, would like to keep is casual and inexpensive or moderately priced)

A few more related questions:
1. For dinner, do you usually need reservations?
2. We will likely be staying near the River and near the Mouth of Truth, so any restaurant recommendations around there would also be helpful
3. and finally - a sillier question - I love iced coffee in the morning - will I be able to find it in Rome/Italy or is a big f aux pas to order Ice coffee?

L'Arcano.
(via dei Pastini/via delle Paste 102)
http://www.larcano.it

My sister and I have tried to remember the name of this place and recently found the shopkeepers card that recommended this wonderful place. I just got an email back from Rome with the info.

We LOVED this place. She said ask for Luigi or Oscar.
We did and they smiled and greeted us.
There were tables sat up in a little alley. It was so perfect. the food was flavorful, and a good value.

Order this bottle of wine for a evening of giggles and fun.
Pinot Oltrepò Pavese 15 euros

Hi, restaurants by their proximity to tourist attractions would be really useful. jetsetj, where is the restaurant above located?
Could anyone else help out by listing a couple of their favorite restaurants near the Vatican, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Villa Borghese or by area - Trastavere, Campo de Fiori, etc. I am looking for inexpensive to mid-priced places, Dand S75, would that work for you?
Thanks, I was planning to gather this information at some point too.

Just a small note: Buca di Ripetta is not really near the Trevi fountain. It is northwest of the Spanish Steps near Piazza del Popolo.

Hi, can anyone suggest any moderately priced restaurants that would fit 8 people, for a Sunday night near the Borghese Gallery?
Even something non-Italian would be fine but not something tooo exotic! Thanks.

The SlowFood option in that area (near Villa Borghese):

TRATTORIA CADORNA Via Cadorna, 12

Traditional Roman food; moderate price; in business for more than 60 years.

I have it on my list for next time. Open Sunday dinner. Closed Sunday lunch.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 07:52 AM.
